Day by Day

The past few weeks have been a roller coaster. For the first week home I had to have some take me to st. george for blood work for Brysen, beg people to drop off and pick up my kids from school and much more.

I appreciate the people who have gone above and beyond everything to help me out.

Stefany: Thank you SO much for taxi'n me around to all the doctor appointments. For the multiple trips to St. George. I truly appreciate you.

Julie: You are so caring and I love you for that. Your morning calls to make sure I am okay or if I need anything, and I thank you for all the times you took my kids to school. (And I think it was you who leaked to relief society I had just had a baby, so they would bring us meals, although I was stubborn and didn't want them to, it was really nice not having to worry about making dinner)

Jenni & Jason: We could not ask for better best friends. You guys are simply amazing. I love you both so much, and could never thank you enough for your love & support. Jenni I appreciate your texts and calls to see how I was, and you coming over to visit me, even through your morning sickness!

Alexis: Thank you for taking my kids to school on the mornings I couldn't find anyone. I appreciate having a friend like you in my life that will help me whenever they can.

And to all the rest of the people who called, text or facebooked while we were welcoming our new bundle of joy to the world and adjusting to the life with a baby. Friends and Family mean so much and it is nice to have then there when you need it the most. I love you all!

Brysen's Blessing

What a long weekend! Tons of visiting family, trying to keep the house cleaned, and take care of the kids all at the same time.
It was so nice to have my dad and family down visiting.  I love them so much and don't get to see them enough, so I treasure each moment.  Because my dad was down we decided to have Brysen blessed as a member of the church! My dad did an amazing job, and I love him so much!
The days leading up to the blessing I searched everywhere for a white outfit to have him blessed in, but he is so little we couldn't find anything that would fit him so I settled for an outfit that my amazing friend Kalae had given me.  Although it was too big, and not all white, he still looked as handsome as ever.
I will post a few pictures once I figure out how to on this computer :)

Going Home

I thought this day would never come. What a long, emotional and stressful week.  I could not be more happy then to be leaving this hospital, and with my son.

I feel for those who have to spend endless days and nights in the hospital with their little ones as they fight for their lifes. I am so fortunate that Brysen overcame all the trials he was given and together we get to go home.

As we were headed to leave I couldn't be more appreciative to the doctors and nurses of the NICU and the nurses who helped me through my tears and pain. Every day was worth each and every fight I endured. I would do it all over again to bring my son home with me.

Now the real life begins......

Hospital

{Another long post and a lot of babbling, but I need to write as much as I can so I remember}

What a trial we have been faced with. Welcoming our son 5 weeks early, trying to get mom (me) back to good health, learning to adjust to juggling two kids at home (making sure they get school work done and house stays decent).

Tony was an amazing dad through all of this. He stayed with me at the hospital until as last as he could (due to babysitting needs), would leave go to work the next morning at 5am and then come straight back to the hospital that night just to do it all over again.

I don't know what I would have done without him coming every night. I was lonely, lost, emotionally overwhelmed. I tried to stay strong and give the impression that I could handle it all on my own, but really I was crushed and a wreck.

I am in pain walking to and from the nicu every two hours to fight together with Brysen and find the strength for him to eat. It seemed every time we over came a trial with Brysen a new one came. Being born 5 weeks early you can always expect some trials, but sometimes it feels never ending.

Once he was born they had to inflate his lungs so that he could breath correctly, we over came that and where immediately hit with extremely low sugar levels (due to too much insulin produced by his body).  The hooked up an IV in his scalp and began giving him a sugar IV. He was on the sugar for 3 days.  As we were regulating the sugar, he suddenly quit eating. His body got too weak and he wasn't able to suck enough so the put in a feeding tube.

Wednesday: The doctor gave me strict rules that if he didn't eat at least a full ounce orally within 30 minutes every three hours they would feed him through the tube. He had to go 24 hours without a feeding in the tube before they would release him from the hospital.  I was really worried the nurses in the NICU wouldn't take their time and patience to work him to eat so I was there for every feeding (every 3 hours). I calculated it took me about 15-20 minutes to walk from my room down to the NICU (side note: I was in alot of pain from surgery and was not wanting to take pain meds so I walked incredibly slow and in a lot of pain). So feeding is every 3 hours which means I basically did not sleep for 4 days. My every 3 hours consisted of 15 minutes to walk each way, plus 30 minutes feeding, 15 minutes changing his diaper, clothes, and checking his sugar & temperature,  get back to room and pump for 30 minutes, which would leave me with about 45 minutes until I had to do it all over again.

Every sleepless day, hour, minute was well worth me getting him strong enough to get off the sugar IV, and feeding tube.

Thursday: Must just be a blur with the rest of the days ;)

Friday morning - we finally overc0me those 3 battles (Lungs, Sugar levels and feedings) then they do the billirubin test to check for Jondus and find out he registered at a 17.9, which is a dangerous level for a baby of 3 days. They immediately call and get a full light bed and say that he will be in there for a mandatory 24 hours. I couldn't help but cry. My baby is 3 days old, I have barely seen or held him and now they are sticking him in this machine and tell me I can only take him out for 30 minutes every 3 hours. I just wanted to have him and hold him when I wanted.

Saturday Morning: What a long emotional day. I knew I was being released today, but still no word on when Brysen would get to go home with me. It made me cry over and over cause I needed answers, I needed to know when I could take my baby home. Finally the NICU calls me and says he has passed the Jondus test and they are waiting for the doctor to come, but they are hopeful he will be released this morning. I cried again, I was so happy of the possibility he would come home with me.

Finally at 11am the doctors came and cleared me. Once I was cleared I was able to go down to the NICU and wait for the pediatrician. It felt like forever. Finally he came and said "You are a lucky little guy, you get to go home with your mommy!" Those were the best words I had ever heard. Once they doctor gave the okay we began all the process of getting a baby released from the NICU. He had to sit in his car seat for 90 minutes without his heartbeat or oxygen levels dropping. I had to watch an hour long video on first aid and cpr.  I had to sit through a 30 minute session with the lactation specialist and lastly a 30 minute session with the head nurse of NICU to go over all the precautions with a preemie.

Once all the classes were over, Brysen passed him car seat test, and Dad arrived from Mesquite we signed all the released papers and couldn't get out of that place fast enough.

Welcome Baby Boy

Wow what a day. This will be a long post, as I write detailed so that I can remember this day.
Over the weekend prior to delivering our baby boy I was not feeling to good. My head was constantly hurting, but I just kept blowing it off. Finally Saturday night I went over to Smith's to check my blood pressure. I couldn't think of any other reason my head would be hurting.  However it wasn't incredibly high, it was in the 140's over 80 (anything below 120/80 ix normal) so home I went.  Sunday morning I woke up feeling like crap still but again just figured lack of sleep and the excessive heartburn where the cause.  I decided that I was down to just over 5 weeks until D-day so I would start gathering the baby and my stuff for the hospital, and make a list of all the stuff I still needed to buy. (obviously my mind knew something I didn't)
Monday comes along and I go about my normal day, getting the kids ready and off to school and go to work. I still seemed to feel a little off, but I had stuff I needed to get done so I continued to put it off. Finally lunch time rolls around and I decided I should go to the doctors in Mesquite just to have my blood pressure checked. Sitting in the chair with those horrible blood pressure cuffs I could feel it getting tighter and tighter as I sat there and instantly I had a bad feeling.  Finally it started to loosen an I could see the concern in the nurses eyes. She quickly asked me if I had any high blood pressure during pregnancy, and I responded no. My blood pressure had been perfect the entire 8 months. I then asked her what the number was and she responded 189/100. I was shocked. And scared. I was not ready for this baby, but I didn't want to get myself worked up. So I politely asked her what I should do, and she replied "Go to Labor & Delivery."

So I left the doctors office feeling a little overwhelmed, but not wanting to overreact. This being the first time I had high blood pressure I wondered if it was just cause I was so tired. So I immediately called my dr office, but had no luck talking to anyone.  I waited 10 minutes and called again, still no luck. At that moment I decided to call L&D and see what they thought.  I explained to her what was going on, past pregnancy issues and she told me the safest thing to do would be to come to the hospital.

Luckily for me Tony had the day off. I called him on his cell and told him "We need to go to the hospital." He was home in minutes and we were on our way.  Once I arrived the nurses didn't seem to be to worried, I think they wanted to brush me off as a paranoid prego chick (which I very well am) Just as the first nurse was telling me a story about how lack of sleep can effect it blah, blah, blah, another nurse walked in said "Dr. Lunt wants her hooked up to monitor the baby and her blood pressure for 2 hours and a full routine blood work drawn and then he will be over for the results." He also ordered that I have no food or drinks just in case (so at this point I had only had a granola bar at 9:30 in the morning and it was nearing 2pm, I was starving)

2 hours of having your blood pressure checked every 10 minutes simply SUCKS. Those things hurt worse then a shot (side note by the time I delivered the baby my arm was bruised from the blood pressure cuff) Finally the dr arrived, wasn't too happy with the numbers and announced that I will be admitted to the hospital.

He must have seen the fear in my eyes when he looked at Tony and I and promised nothing would happy to our son or I. He said the baby was completely perfect, there was no stress on him or anything, that he was worried about me. He didn't understand why my blood pressure was so high, why I was so swollen yet I didn't have preclamsia.

He warned us that there was a possibility that they would take the baby today. He wanted to start an IV, get me in a gown (I was still in my street clothes) and continue to monitor the baby. He was going to give me some meds to bring down my blood pressure. (my blood pressure had got as high as 217/147)  He then told me he had to "run" to his sons track meet, but the  nurses had him on speed dial if they saw any concerns, and he would be back to check on me in the evening.

About midnight, 5 hours after they had given me meds for blood pressure I started to have a worse headache and my blood pressure began to climb again (it never went to normal levels, but they had got it down to about 147/89, which was better then the prior readings).  My back was killing me from laying on the beds which are hard as a rock, and I wanted to get out of bed so bad, but the nurses wouldn't let me. Finally about 3am the nurse came in and said she had just got off the phone with Dr. Lunt and he was on his way in. He was not happy with my numbers and he was ready to take the baby.

He feared what could happen to me if we waited any longer, although at no time did they worry the baby was in danger.  5am rolled around and the nurse came in to inform me that Dr had got there around 4am, but had a patient go into labor and he was just finishing up with her.  About 6:30am the nurse came in and began to "prep" my body for c-section. The anesthesiologist (very cute guy) came and talked to me about everything and took me back to surgery room.

I remember sitting on the tiny bed talking to the nurse while getting the epidural. I really don't think  they are that painful, lol. Epidural was done and the anesthesiologist told me to lay back immediately.  As soon as my head hit the bed it felt like exploded. It was pounding worse then anything I can ever describe.  I started to cry I was in so much pain. My blood pressure suddenly went from 196/121 to 237/47.  No one seemed to understand what my body was doing, and all I knew was my head was about to explode.

They continued to drape me and started asking me all the routine questions, can you feel this, can you feel that. Are you legs heavy and numb and so forth.  Dr. Lunt then announced to me he was going to do the initial cut and then my husband would be brought in, to just hang in there. Next thing I know I was screaming. I felt that cut, and it hurt like I can't even explain. Dr. Lunt asked the anesthesiologist what was going on and he said I was fully numbed at highest dose and my body was just acting weird. It was at that point the anesthesiologist and Dr decided to give me something and that is the last thing I remember.

Next thing I know I am waking up, confused lost and had no clue what was going on or what had just happened.  I realized I was in the hospital, but had no clue I had just had a baby. I began to panic and ask where my husband was, the nurses replied he was with the baby, and I replied where is the baby, my baby? I was later informed I asked her that about 6 times.

Finally I started to come out of it and was able to see my baby for about 5 seconds before they rushed him away to nicu.

Tony tells me I said a lot of weird things to the doctors and nurses while I was out, but obviously I don't recall any of it!

This is all I can remember to post about now, but I am sure I will remember more later!!!

Baby Shower

I am a bit behind on postings, but this past weekend Carrie threw me an amazing baby shower! The theme was baby safari with giraffe's, elephants, monkeys and more! {the baby shower theme fit perfect with the theme for our baby} I was in awe of all the wonderful things I got for our lil guy!

We got 29 little outfits of all sizes, 4 packs of diapers, 7 blankets, tons of onesies, breast feeding cover, car seat cover, vibrating chair, 6 adorable pairs of shoes, pacifiers, bibs, toys, books, picture frames, and a bazillion wipes (total I think we got 2,700 wipes (individually of course & enough to last for at least the first 6 months of his life). I am sure I missed some things too.

I received much more then I would have dreamed at my shower, leaving us to only buy a couple last things such as a diaper bag, play pen, swing, and a bassinet. It makes it a little more of a reality now! This little guy is coming, so we need to start preparing for him!

Thank you SO much to my friends and family and a HUGE thank you to Carrie. I love you all so much and appreciate the support! Carrie you went above and beyond my expectations and you threw the perfect shower for me! Love ya!

{Pictures to come soon}

5 weeks and 4 days!

It is official! We will be welcoming our little boy on November 8th! We had originally hoped for the 1st of November, however he is now measuring for the 15th so doctor is cautious to take him too soon.

I have already began the weekly appointments (actually did back on the 8th of September) with Dr. Lunt as well as the weekly NST (non-stress tests). At my first NST my fluid was only measuring a 10.1 so it was determined that they will do an ultrasound every Wednesday from here out to make sure all is safe with the little man. Week 2 my fluid was up to a 14, but week 3 is dropped back to a 10.4. Talk about a roller coaster. As long as the levels stay above a 10 we are safe!

So in addition to the c-section, I have made the decision to have my tubes tied at the same time. Our original plan was for Tony to have a vasectomy, but I have since decided that 1 - I will already be cut open 2 - it wont make a big difference in my recovery 3 - do I really want to take care of tony (NO).

So the countdown begins... just under 6 weeks and we will be welcoming our lil guy! Now if only he had a name....

Another Weekend....

Seems like now that school has started the days drag (while at work) and the nights fly (except when we are doing homework). It is amazing to think that in just over 2 months we will be adding to our family.

Because of me being pregnant we have been unable to do much Sunday drives which is our family normal. But with the high altitude and the bumpy roads it makes me swell and cramp all night. So our lives have been very uneventful and we mostly just chill at home.

Here is a family recap:

Tony:
Tony has been working hard as normal. In his free time he rebuilt his Yamaha Dirtbike and was finally able to take a ride, but only long enough to realize he had a bad gasket. He now has to take apart and fix it, but hope to have it up and running soon!

Jamie:
Nothing new here. Pregnant, work and taking care of the Kyler & Jaelin. All together I have a very boring yet fulfilling life. Looking forward to being done with pregnancy and adjusting to the life with a baby.

Kyler: 7 years 2.5 months old
2nd grade has been a slow start for us. Kyler is seeming to approve, but also seems to be too lazy to try at times. Makes for a extremely frustrated mom. Thus far he likes his teacher, but is upset about not having PE enough. We hope to improve more on his reading, writing and math skills this year, and get pass the "guessing" answer stage he is in. Each day Kyler looks more and more like his dad and even acts like him (scary).

Jaelin: 5 years 5.5 months old
What a girl. She very clearly has her own personality. Sometimes I wonder where she gets it from. She is loving school so far. She loves Mrs. Mickelson and seems to be getting along well with most of the kids in her class. We are still having plenty of trouble getting her to want to learn her letters, but I really hope with time she will start to try a little harder. Jaelin is still our little music lover. Everything music she wants. She loves to sing, dance, and play her guitar.

Baby Boy: 29 weeks
You still have no name but you are growing nicely and moving a tons. You have the hiccups at least twice a day, usually around 4:30am & 1pm. You still continue to give me morning sickness, and I have yet to have a day were I have not thrown up. Heartburn is extreme and I have been living off of Pepcid AC & Tums for over a month. My blood work showed I was anemic so I have begun taking Iron. You love to roll over and kick until Dad comes around then you play sleep. It never fails. He will hold his hand or place his head on my belly for 30 minutes and you don't make a peep, but as soon as he stops touching me you kick away. My blood sugars have been quite amazing with you and we got the HGA1C down a whole point (which is success to do while pregnant!) All in all this pregnancy has gone very well. We can't wait to meet you!

11 weeks to go!

Yesterday we went for another baby check up and ultrasound and decided we would take the kids along. First of all, baby is still a BOY! That was one of the big questions! The kids loved seeing the baby, although most of it was confusing for them. They got to see his heart beat {and hear it}, his kidneys, his spine, and all the rest the good stuff. While the ultrasound tech was showing the kids the heart and kidneys Kyler was like "look the babys belly button" we all giggled and try to explain that the baby doesnt have one yet. {He didn't quite understand.}

Ultrasound looked good! The doc has been mostly concerned about my placenta lying on top of my bladder but it looks like it is slowly moving up, which is a good thing! She measured my amniotic fluid and it measured at 14cm, they like it at at least 10! So yay for drinking enough water! His heart is developing perfectly and he has a great heartbeat at 156 along with his kidneys and other organs!

I am still suffering horribly from acid reflux and the morning vomiting is killing me. I have been taking Pepcid AC for 2 weeks now {plus living off of tums} and it hasn't been helping much. We have decided to up that to 2 pills a day and see how that goes! I got my results back on my red blood cell count and I am anemic. No big just one more pill to remember to pop each morning! Also my hemoglobin A1C (a blood test that shows your average sugar levels over the last 90 days) has gone down to a 6.1 (3 months ago it was 7.1, 9 months ago it was 10.2). So in a nutshell we are getting my sugars under control for the most part. We aren't satisfied with that number but happy to see we have made progress. It is one thing to control sugar levels, but hard as sin when you are preggo.

The doctor {& I} are SO happy that all has gone well thus far! I would love to say that either of us feel at ease, but sadly the next 2 months is the hardest for me being pregnant. We will begin doing fetal monitoring in 2 weeks, starting at once a week for 2 weeks, then move to twice a week {unless we see a need to do it more}. I truly hope that the next 2 months fly by with ease and come November I will be holding my precious lil guy and taking him home!

Overall baby is doing great and doctor is still amazing! Oh, and the best part of the day.. Jaelin! This little girl cracks me up. After the ultrasound I had to wait for the Dr, so tony decided to take the kids to park (kids can only sit in a waiting room for SO long). When I got done they were waiting out in the lobby and Jaelin says (as she was trying to pull up my shirt) let me see where they cut you open to check on the baby. Tony & I couldn't quit laughing. I tried to explain they wont cut my belly until they are ready to actually take the baby out. {might I add the best perk of a c-section is that I LOVE being able to answer the kids truthfully when they ask me how the baby will come out}

Love in life

I have mentioned before that this blog is my personal journal. This is by far the longest post I have and probably will write. I am writing this for my own mind and strength.

Thinking back over my life and the trials I have faced and overcome I often ponder on how or why my life has taken me on the path it has. I am 28. I have been through some tough trials in my life and at times I wonder if they will ever get easier.

Being pregnant is an amazing experience filled with happiness, love, passion and pain. It brings out emotions and trials unknown to man. It takes you from your highest highs to your lowest lows. No pregnancy is like the other and no outcome remains the same.

Being pregnant with our fourth child is like being pregnant with my first. I don't remember morning sickness, heartburn, acid reflux, contractions or lack of oxygen. The only thing I can truly remember about being pregnant is giving birth to the most amazing, beautiful boys and little girl.

On August 31st it will be 9 years since I laid in a hospital bed for the first time ready to bring a beautiful life into this world. To hold and love him for the rest of our lives. All you think about while pregnant is how you can teach your child to love, laugh and enjoy life. You ponder on his first smile, laugh, step, school and life. There is nothing more enjoyable then knowing that you will have the opportunity to raise a special gift from God.

However there is one thing you don't think about during pregnancy and that is lack of opportunity.

The first opportunity I had to bring life into this world never happened. My precious baby was taken from me before his first breath of air, first tear, first smile. There is not a day that goes by that my heart doesn't ache for my son in heaven. What I would have given to have a moment of life with him in this world. What I would give to hear his voice or see his eyes. As I lay in the hospital holding my lifeless son I ask why. What did we do so wrong for this life to be taken from us. And though I have never received that answer I believe everything in life happens for a reason regardless of how miserable or painful it may be.

Words can never express how lost I feel not having him here. I would give anything to be able to share the firsts' with my son. To whisper in his ear how much I love him. Instead I sit and ponder on what he has become. What God has planned for him.

There is no easier way to say this but I have been through hell. I have lived the nightmares of losing a child. However I found the strength to carry on. As the end of the month approaches and we mourn and celebrate the 9th birthday of our special angel in heaven I pray with all my powers and leave in Gods hands that he will watch over and give us the opportunity to raise our soon to be son.

To my special angel Brody Paul Worthen.

Words can not express the love I had for you during those 39 weeks of growing life. The bond I developed and the love I cherished. Every moment of our life as one is constantly a memory in my heart and mind. I think of your kicks, hiccups, and heartbeat. I remember your dads talks, laughs, screams and belly rubs. A piece of my heart shattered the day I lost you and the moment I told your dad you were gone. My memories of holding you for the first and last time and watching as your dad kissed you good bye. I felt as though my world had crumbled but the moment we laid you in the ground to rest I felt as though you would always be in my heart and be my guardian angel. Son there is nothing I want more then to love you as I have loved your brother and sister. I love and miss you more then words will ever explain.

Time to start shopping!

I have finally decided that it is time for me to start buying some things for this little guy. I have a fear of buying stuff and something happening to him and then being stuck with all this stuff, knowing this is and will be our last baby. Some might call it paranoid, I call it a reality I don't want to have to relive.

So here is the first big purchase...

I fell in love with this the first time I saw it. I got all of it in the picture (minus the lamp & mobile and crib/dresser of course) for $76.94 and that was with shipping! I can NOT wait to get it.

So one purchase down a few more to go!

Jaelin goes to Kindergarten!

HOORAY!

Jaelin got her shots last week so today she is officially registered for Kindergarten. I was already leaked who her teacher was (by her teacher) but I hadn't told her yet. We received the letter from the school and Kyler took the honors of reading it to her. Saying she was EXCITED is an understatement. Her face lit up!

Jaelin will be beginning her school adventures with Mrs. Mickelson! I was praying that is who she would get, since Jaelin was already familiar with her. Mrs. Mickelson is an amazing teacher and I am truly blessed that she will be teaching Jaelin!

Now I am on the count down to 4 weeks. Jaelin has learned to identify and write numbers 1-10, knows all her colors and shapes, (even an oval), and my final goal is to get her to identify and write all of the abc's. She is doing very well at learning how to spell/write her last name, her phone number & address. My overall goal is to stay positive and hope she gets the hang of most of this by school time!

Utah Trip

The kids & I went on a mini vacation to visit family in Utah. It was a fun time and I focused it mostly on spending time with the kids.
We went to the Park:
Jaelin at Park

Kyler at Park

Kyler & Jaelin

Jaelin showing Kyler some sister love!

Kyler & Jaelin peeking around a big tree!

The kids' favorite thing was Foam Day in Lehi! They had SO much fun!

Here are some picture of the Kids at Foam Day:

We also went to the movies twice (Marmaduke & The Karate Kid), went to IKEA for Cinnamon Rolls, and got some school clothes shopping done!

I had an amazing time getting away and visiting with family, but I must say driving to Utah is much harder pregnant. I do not have any plans of doing the drive alone again until much after the baby arrives!

Suprise...

It's a BOY!

WOW, what a day of shock! I was so happy Tony was able to go to the doctors with me for an ultrasound to check on the little one.

It was an ultrasound to make sure my fluid was right on, my kidneys were good, oh and to make sure SHE was a SHE which SHE is actually a HE. Talk about SHOCKED! For 7 weeks we have been calling him a girl. We finally picked out a name, and were ready to start buying baby stuff. I am SO happy I hadn't.

So our SON is looking good. He was quite amusing during the ultrasound absolutely refusing to show the ultrasound tech anything but his boy parts. We were able to get 5 different angles of his "turtle!"

Jaelin & her Love for Music!

Jaelin LOVES music. She spends countless hours in her room singing and "playing" her guitar! Her passion for music simply awes me.

If she is not in her room singing and playing, she is in the living room pounding on the piano, listening to the ipod & singing!

Jaelin has also been saving money in her savings account at the bank to buy something special. I believe she has finally decided that she wants to buy a piano (keyboard). She has saved up $80 so far and we have decided we will put up the rest of the money to get her something nice, that will last for awhile.

So next on the list.. singing & piano lessons! This is something she has asked us about on numerous occasions. {Does anyone that reads this know of someone in Mesquite who teaches singing/piano lessons to 5 year olds?}

P.S. I have pictures of her playing but my phone died so those will come a bit later!!!

Crafty Fun

My sister in law Tara has come to help me out for a week and we were bored and decided to make some crafts! What a fun thing to make! I loved it!

Let me start by sharing that I recently bought this hair thing for Jaelin. It costs me $8, yes $8. Had I known it was that much, I never would have bought it.

So Tara & I made these.. which all together cost me about $7!

I think we did a great job for first timers! Jaelin absolutely LOVES them! Thanks Tara for having fun with us! We sure do LOVE you!

Kylers headed to 2nd grade!

Kyler got his "big" letter in the mail letting us know who his 2nd grade teacher will be. He was SO excited to read it. He thought for sure he was going to get Mrs. Durbin! Sadly, he was wrong (and quite bummed).

Kyler will be going to 2nd grade with Mrs. Livingston. I asked him if he knew who she was and he said he had met her during Summer School. He is excited to start 2nd grade and has been working so hard this summer, mostly on reading.

The best part was when I asked if he knew about how old she was. He responds with "Well she isn't 94 like Grandma Ryan but she isn't like 40 like Grandma Debbie, so I think she is 50. Yea 50." Haha, I love how kids age people! (I have no clue who she is so for all I know she can be 24 or 50)

Kyler: I am so proud of your growing knowledge and the time you take to try and teach your sister stuff! You are such a great big brother and I hope you continues to help her and your next little sister!

On a side note, I got a letter from the school saying they will not assign Jaelin to a Kindergarten teacher until her immunization shots are done. This whole thing annoys me, cause I have had an appointment for her to get her shots since May 25th, and her appointment isn't until July 29th. So I guess we wont know who will be her teacher until it is time for school.

Happy 4th of July

What a fun family time we had for 4th of July weekend! Saturday we headed to St. George to spend time with Tony's mom & siblings.

Here are a couple shots of the family doing fireworks.

This is a group shot, but it turned out crappy from all the firework smoke.

Both the kids LOVED the fireworks, however Jaelin loved something even more, Lacie. Lacie is Scott, Michele's husbands, daughter. What a sweet girl and she let Jaelin love her all night. Thanks Lacie, we love having one more aunt, cousin whatever you are (haha) in the family!

Baby, Baby, Baby!

We are just over 1/2 way there! What a HUGE milestone for us in this pregnancy. I can not say enough how much I love my doctor and all he does for me, both physically & mentally.

Physically I can handle pregnancy and everything that comes with it, mentally not so well. My doctor does an amazing job at comforting me and letting me know all will be okay.

I continue to hope and pray that this little girl arrives safely to our family! I love her kicks in the ribs and hiccups on the bladder! Nothing makes me happier then feeling her move, and knowing she is okay!

In the next coming weeks I will be seeing my Perinatologist, Endocrinologist and continuing to see both my OB doctor and my Diabetic specialist! This baby will cost me a fortune, but she will be worth it in the end!

Kyler's Family Birthday Party!

Sunday we celebrated Kyler's birthday with Family! I made spaghetti dinner & had cake! It was very uneventful, but fun to just visit with family and not have to worry about entertaining.

Kyler had only asked for money for his birthday. He has finally decided he wants to buy an ipod touch. Currently him & Jaelin fight over mine all day, so this will give him his own. Kyler made bank from his grandparents (he has tons of them). He got a total of $112 from his family party, $45 from his friend party and already had $84.58 in his savings account at the bank. He is SO excited that he can now buy the ipod, and he will still have a little bit of money left over.

Due to the fact that I was extremely exhausted and our house was hot as sin (our AC is going out AGAIN) I only took 2 pics.

I was happy to see that Kyler was up to having a party still. He woke up Sunday morning with a fever of 102.3. I tried to cancel the party but he was insistent about having it. Luckily his fever broke and he is back to being himself.

Happy 7th Birthday Kyler!!!

Kyler invited a couple of his school buddies over for a pool party, but sadly our pool looked like a swamp so we decided to take the kids to the park for a water balloon fight. They went through 200 water balloons in less then 5 minutes. So I asked the kids what they wanted to do next and Kyler said "get muddy in the river!" All the boys got excited, so to the river we went. After the river we took them back to our house set up the slip & slide, covered it in dish soap and let them "clean off!"
Here are a couple pictures from his birthday party!

I am SO happy that Kyler had such a great day with his lil buddies! This year all he asked for is money. He is saving up for something "big." (not sure what that is yet) Every time his piggy bank has a little bit of money in it he begs me to take him to the bank to make a deposit. He is doing so awesome, and I love that he is learning to save his money!

Kyler, you mean the world to me. Every day I am SO thankful for the amazing doctor who saved your life and let me raise you on this earth. You are an amazing little boy and grow stronger each day. You have developed so many new skills and you knowledge for things astounds me. I love that you care for your sister, and fight with her too. I love the moments when you sit there and talk about Brody and how much you are like him. I love that you are such a boy, but have no problems playing dress up with your sister. Most of all I am so happy that you are mine.

Last of all I love your random questions and thoughts. The other day while driving you asked me what Brody was. I didn't understand your question so you said, "You know mom, was he black or mexican or what?" I couldn't help but laugh by your pure innocence in this question. I told you he was white just like you and you responded "How am I supposed to know I didn't meet him, but I will one day right mom?"

Happy 2nd Birthday!

To my cute little nephews. I love you two SO much! Through every trial in life you have grown to be the cutest, most spoiled twins I know! But I wouldn't trade you for the WORLD!

Father's Day

Due to the weekend wedding (prior post) we were really hoping for the opportunity to sleep in on Sunday morning. The kids' had a different idea.

6:48 Sunday morning I can hear whispering at the foot of the bed, but I thought if I pretended not to hear them they would just go watch tv. That was not the case. The kids (mostly Kyler) had prepared breakfast for their dad. They were SO excited to give him his toast and milk, and the card Kyler had made for him at Summer school.

The kids' were full of delight as they watched their dad choke down his very dry toast, and attempt to drink milk. Tony is NOT a milk drinker, never has been. The best part was the toast hardly had any butter on it, so it was very dry. That goes back to Mother's Day, when the kids' made me toast for breakfast. There was SO much butter on it that is all I could taste. So we told Kyler to only put a little butter on the toast, hence we now get dried toast.

All in all it was the perfect start for Father's Day. Though I successfully only got 6.5 hours asleep, how can you be upset over such a kind gesture from your kids'.

After we got up, cleaned up the house, packed food we headed out for a Sunday drive with some of Tony's family. WOW the was one LONG and rough ride. The roads were so washed out, but it was absolutely beautiful up there. After a long 8 hour drive I was happy to be home, showered and off to bed.

Cute little Cabin we found!

Beautiful mountain scenery

Most importantly I should say how much I TRULY love my husband and all he does for our family. I am also blessed to have 2 amazing dads who I know would do anything in their powers for me if needed. They have both been a huge part of my life in different aspects and I love them for it.
